The Community Outreach of St. George's

"But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves." - James 1:22 

The Christian life of prayer and worship, doctrine and theology, faith and life is best understood when one puts their faith into practice.  Outreach is a vital part of any Christian church as it provides countless opportunities to present Christ, in deed, to the world.  The following page is a general overview of how important outreach is to our Church and how we show the love of Christ to a world desperatly in need of it. 


2011 COMMUNITY OUTREACH ACTIVITIES

Art Exhibits- Watch for announcements throughout the year

Non-Perishable Food Items- Sending non-perishable food items each month to local food pantries.

Precious Preemies Project- Crocheting and knitting preemie blankets for premature births.


FEBRUARY

Laundry-bags Evangelism- Providing the necessary essentials to satisfy the basic physical needs of someone in the margins & show that St. George cares.

Pro-Life Awareness- Brochures distributed to parishioners.

MARCH, APRIL, AUGUST
Miracle Hill Ministries support

SEPTEMBER
Family Festival-Fun and fellowship for the whole family as well as surrounding church neighborhoods- hot dogs and games.
 
OCTOBER
Walk for the homeless- Annual fundraising event for United Ministries.

NOVEMBER
Boxes of Love- provide Thanksgiving meals for needy families.

DECEMBER
Christmas Caroling National Healthcare Center
U.S. Marine Reserve Toys for Tots Program
