Dss. Deborah "Debbie" Kidd


Born in Washington, DC, Dss. Deborah "Debbie" Kidd grew up in Vienna, VA, in Northern Virginia. She was graduated from Longwood University, Farmville, VA, with a BA in Secondary Education and from the Catholic University of America, Washington, DC, receiving an MS in Library Science. After decades of service in the field of public librarianship in Fairfax (VA) and Prince William (VA) Counties, she moved to Greer, SC, where she and her husband Dan now reside. Their son Daniel lives nearby. Debbie was Set Apart to the Order of Deaconess on All Saints' Day, 2007, by the Most Rev. Walter H. Grundorf, DD, Bishop, Diocese of the Eastern United States, Anglican Province of America, at the Anglican Church of St. George the Martyr, Simpsonville, SC, where she serves under the guidance of the Most Rev. Walter H. Grundorf. During her three-year period of preparation, her training included a two-year catechist course at The Anglican Institute for Lay Ministries, Mills River, NC, and a two-year biblical counseling program at the Redeemer Biblical Counseling Training Institute, Duncan, SC. Her ministry is varied but primarily includes serving as the Parish Librarian, informal counseling of women and visiting women in the hospital, leading an intercessory prayer group, and organizing community outreach projects. Her favorite Bible verses are Philippians 4:6-8.
